World Class Golf: But That’s Not All!
One thing you cannot help but notice when you enter the 800-acre resort property is the grandeur of the architecture throughout the property including the massive fountain outside the marble lobby. The aptly named villas scattered throughout the resort give a nod to some of the greatest golfers of all time – many of whom have played on Trump National Doral’s legendary golf course. Mention “The Blue Monster” to any golfer and they’re sure to instantly make the connection with this iconic location.
Resort Villas: Spacious & Luxurious
The resort has more than 600 rooms but you would never know it because the property is incredibly spacious – a luxury you don’t often find in Miami! Our family has stayed in the villas honoring Phil Mickelson and Ben Hogan (ask your husbands). Each one was decorated elegantly and with the highest caliber of attention to detail. The rooms and hallways are filled with portraits of the esteemed golfers’ most celebrated moments.
We stayed in a 1 Bedroom, 2 bathroom Executive Suite with a large living room and it was huge! You could do a cartwheel in the bathroom (ask me how I know!) For our family of four having the space to spread out allowed everyone to sleep well which meant we all had more fun! I cannot even describe to you how amazing the beds were. No one loved snuggling up in them more than my kids – especially when my toddler learned all about turndown service and the nightly chocolate on her pillow.
The Trump Spa
While the resort is known for its four championship golf courses, what you may not know is that Trump National Doral Miami is also home to a 48,000 square foot spa! If you know me, you know I took every opportunity to explore the spa and I have to say, it’s one of my absolute favorites!
More than 100 treatments are offered and guests of the spa also enjoy access to the steam room, sauna, jacuzzis, and pool. The spa facilities are huge so you never feel like you are crowded in with other guests. It truly is a relaxing experience that will cause you to fully unwind from the moment you walk in.
First Class Dining Options
There are plenty of dining options on property. Enjoy a casual poolside experience at the Royal Palms Pool. Visit the beautiful clubhouse and try the highly acclaimed BLT Prime or Champions Bar & Grill. Both have incredible views of the golf course and a wide variety of delicious options for the whole family. You might not want to leave your room because the sunset views in Doral are spectacular. No problem, opt for in-room dining like we did one night and enjoy dinner from the comfort of your balcony or lanai.
Outdoor Fun: Pools, Cabanas, & Waterslides!
There are 3 pools on property including one specifically for kids and another for adults. so you can choose your challenge. Be sure to check out the 125 foot winding waterslide that is fun for the whole family.
The cabana service at the Royal Palm Pool is top notch and will elevate your poolside experience to another level. We were able to enjoy an entire day poolside as a family. The cabana was equipped with a fridge, drinks, snacks, a tv, and a fan so the baby could nap peacefully while the rest of us enjoyed the sunshine. We highly recommend the cabanas if you have children or if you want a daycation with friends. Remember, a visit to the spa also gets you day access to the resort pools so you can getaway for even a day!
Kid-Focused Activities
Trump National Doral Miami takes the tiniest travelers very seriously and offer luxurious amenities tailored just for them! Along with kid-friendly beverage and menu items, no-tear bath amenities, and on-site nanny service, the resort also offers child sized robes and slippers, and even children’s books if you forgot to pack your bedtime stories! They also provide special treatments and pricing for kids at the spa. It’s this kind of excellence that sets this resort apart and makes it a top pick for families.
