Christmas Light Displays: A List of the Must-See Places in Miami

Celebrate the season with a family tradition of discovering Miami’s most dazzling Christmas light displays — perfect for all ages.

There’s something magical about the soft glow of Christmas lights illuminating the night. For my family, the holiday season wouldn’t feel complete without our cherished tradition of piling into the car with festive tunes and an excited energy to explore the most stunning light displays in the area. My husband, our two daughters, and I have made this an annual adventure, and it’s one of the things we look forward to most each December. It’s even more exciting when we can get our friends or family to come along and join in the fun!

Driving through neighborhoods decked out in twinkling lights is like stepping into a winter wonderland — even without the snow. Seeing my daughters’ faces light up as they spot glowing reindeer, colorful inflatables, shimmering candy canes, and homes that look like gingerbread houses is a joy that captures the spirit of the season. Over the years, we’ve discovered some unforgettable spots to add to our Christmas light tour.

Here are a few local homes that we have loved visiting, and we hope you will enjoy these as much as we have.

Homes for Dazzling Christmas Lights

Miami-Dade County

3050 Lime Court, Coconut Grove: Michael Hornyak’s house is a festive masterpiece adorned with twinkling Christmas lights, glowing snowflakes, and cheerful inflatables. If you’d like to stretch your legs, park near Coconut Grove Elementary School and enjoy a short walk to soak in the holiday spirit. Several nearby homes join in the festivities too, including one decked out in University of Miami colors with bubbles (a fun take on snow) adding to the magical atmosphere.

12331 SW 109 Terrace: Do you remember the ever-popular Christmas Castle house? The Hannah Family has scaled back a bit, but the home boasts an incredible, light-filled Christmas celebration. This year, they have three trains, synchronized lighting, and music. Follow @christmascastle on Instagram for updates.

Enchanted Place of North Miami, located at 1800 NE 137 Terrace: Several neighbors join in on the fun, so you can drive through and enjoy the lights on the entire block. It’s so beautiful and festive but be patient because sometimes the car lines can be a bit long.

Broward County

2100 NW 112 Terrace, Pembroke Pines: If you love Disney, you must check out this incredible home that’s decorated with Disney characters. I hear this one is located behind Pembroke Lakes Elementary and the gentleman who puts on this display has been doing it for decades.

Christmas Lights in the Acres, Plantation: I hope to finally make it there this year! It’s a bit of a drive for me, but I hear it’s totally worth it.

2700 SE 6 Street, Pompano Beach: The Macek family goes all out with decorations and turns on their lights at 6 p.m.

Messingschlager Family Lights: 1132 SW 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale

While neighborhood tours are truly special, Miami also offers a variety of festive attractions
with breathtaking light displays perfect for families.

1. Zoo Miami’s Zoo Lights
   Experience the zoo in a whole new way with this annual event featuring a million
   animal-shaped holiday lights and animal encounters! There’s also hot chocolate,
   cookies, and photo ops with Santa.
2. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s Night at the Garden
   Wander through a breathtaking magical garden filled with interactive light displays,
   holographic animals, and glowing pathways. It’s like stepping into an enchanted forest.
3. Christmas Wonderland at Tropical Park
   This must-visit holiday event features a massive light display, carnival rides, live shows,
   and festive fun for all ages.
4. The Deering Estate’s Holiday Events
   Take a stroll through beautifully decorated grounds and rooms with festive décor that
   highlight the estate’s historic charm. This year, the estate is hosting events around the theme “Historic Holidays: Caroling through the Season.”
5. Nights of Lights at Miami-Dade Fairgrounds
   Experience a walk- and drive-through attraction for the entire family that features bright
   lights, colorful displays, and the joy of the season at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo.
6. Nights of Lights at Pinecrest Gardens
   Twinkling pathways, festive performances, and holiday cheer return to Pinecrest Gardens for this annual seasonal tradition. Nights of Lights transforms the gardens into a winter wonderland on weekend evenings from December 5 through 28, welcoming guests of all ages with illuminated displays, seasonal treats, live entertainment in the Banyan Bowl, and a Holiday Bazaar. Santa sightings and family-friendly surprises add to the festive atmosphere at this annual community celebration.
7. Luminosa at Jungle Island
   Light and imagination take over Jungle Island as Luminosa: A Journey Through Light returns, transforming 13 acres of lush landscape into a glowing world of art, culture and fantasy. This year’s edition invites guests on a radiant journey through the Amazon, the African savannah, Ancient Egypt and the Frozen Kingdom, each realm brought to life through monumental handcrafted lanterns. Wander beneath a parrot archway, encounter a 43-foot Chinese dragon, explore the Jaguar’s Temple, and marvel at luminous baobab trees, sphinxes, and polar bears shimmering beneath an aurora.
8. Gulf Stream Symphony of Lights
   The Symphony in Lights at Gulfstream Park Village is a popular, free holiday event featuring a spectacular display of over 250,000 LED lights synchronized to festive music, with 10-minute shows every hour from 6 PM to 11 PM nightly through December 31st, plus extra fun like Santa visits and snow on select dates, making it a great South Florida family outing.
9. Holiday Village on Flagler Street (Downtown Miami)
   You don’t want to miss out on Flagler Street’s impressive display, shining with thousands of lights, a 24-foot Christmas tree, and a 12-foot menorah. There’s so much holiday merriment, you can spend your Sundays strolling through their holiday village and snapping photos at festive photo ops!
10. 6th Annual Winter Festival at The Berry Farm
    With a 42-foot Christmas tree, line dancing under the stars, and 100,000 holiday lights brightening up the property, we get all the Christmas feels at The Berry Farm! For its beloved Winter Festival, the farm transforms its 40 acres into a sparkling countryside experience with glowing trees and festive music.
11. South Miami
    On Sunset Drive, there are plenty of beautiful holiday lights, a gorgeous Christmas tree, and fun holiday photo ops.
12. Ripley’s Believe It or Not!® Christmas Park
    Holiday lights, amusement rides, and Ripley’s trademark curiosities transform Amelia Earhart Park into a festive wonderland during South Florida’s newest seasonal celebration.
13. Christmas Castle at Plantation City Hall
    City of Plantation, Florida’s stunning, walk-in holiday light display at its City Hall (400 NW 73rd Ave) from early December to early January, featuring a sparkling castle you can enter, themed decorations, photo ops, and free entry for families to enjoy nightly festive cheer. It’s a popular, free, family-friendly event in South Florida known for its magical atmosphere and photo opportunities with dazzling lights and holiday themes.
14. Hard Rock the Holidays: A Light Show Spectacular at The Guitar Hotel
    South Florida’s New Holiday Tradition! Explore more than 20 unique displays and over 2 million lights across 24 acres of the Guitar Hotel pool. Enjoy festive treats, photos with Santa, and capture magical moments in immersive holiday scenes designed for the whole family. Don’t miss the limited-time Guitar Hotel holiday light show featuring holiday hits synchronized to a dazzling light spectacle that brings the season to life.
15. Flamingo Gardens 
    In a brand-new holiday collaboration, three notable names—Hoffman’s Chocolates, Flamingo Gardens, and Amazon—are joining forces to present a 36-night celebration like no other. This festive partnership will transform Flamingo Gardens’ 10-acre Arboretum of lush botanical gardens and wildlife sanctuary into a breathtaking wonderland of lights, joy, and holiday cheer, creating an unforgettable experience for families and visitors of all ages. In addition, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is joining the celebration as the presenting sponsor of Santa’s Village in the gardens. Throughout the five-plus weeks, guests will be immersed in the spirit of the holiday season withThousands of colorful and twinkling lights, luminous displays throughout the gardens, a 40-foot Christmas tree sparkling with festive brilliance, and more.

For our family, these outings are more than just sightseeing — they’re moments of connection and joy, a way to pause during the busyness of the season and soak in the magic together.
