Hi Miami Moms! My name is Brittany Aquart, and I am thrilled to be joining the Miami Mom Collective contributor team.
Miami
I was born and raised in Miami. Growing up in Cutler Bay, I was homeschooled through 8th grade and got to spend hours practicing what I loved: ballet. I went to New World School of the Arts and the University of Miami, graduating with a doctorate in physical therapy. My husband, Andrew, is another Miami native and UM alumnus; he is currently an architect at Brillhart Architecture in Allapattah. After starting our married life in Kendall, then spending a year in Downtown Miami, my husband and I fell in love with Miami’s Upper East Side. We now live in Little Haiti with our two boys. Our neighborhood is filled with colorful buildings, delicious food, intriguing people, and exciting music, all next door to beautiful Biscayne Bay. Miami is our home and we adore its tropical charm (could probably do without the mosquitoes, though).

Mom
I always knew I wanted to be a mom. When my son Calvin was born 4 years ago, I felt the scary jolt of things not going as planned. I had an emergency C-section and he spent 10 days in the NICU. Thankfully he came home healthy, but I quickly realized that there is no hard and fast plan when it comes to motherhood. Calvin has always been easy-going and individualistic. He loves any song with a good bass line and goes bug-eyed at the sight of a doughnut. Cortland was born 3 months ago, and we can already tell that he has some strong opinions (and the biggest blue eyes!). He’s either feisty or jolly depending on the circumstances; thankfully the good moods outweigh the bad. The way these brothers smile and laugh at each other is my absolute favorite thing to watch.

Collective
I am so excited to be a contributor for the Miami Mom Collective team. When I started my physical therapy practice, my goal was to empower families with knowledge about their child’s development and provide tools to meet their unique family goals. I believe that individuals thrive in a nurturing community. As a Miami Mom Collective contributor, I hope to support other moms by sharing my expertise and experiences, as well as learn and grow with you on this journey we call motherhood.
Brittany welcome to the team! So excited you’re here! Love reading your bio and can’t wait for all your posts yet to come. 😁😁😁
