Miami Mom Collective Welcomes MIA Mom Ryann Merrill

If there is one thing life in Miami has taught me, it is that family and community sit at the center of everything. HI! I am Ryann, a proud Cuban American, wife, mom, and stepmom. Motherhood has shown me that this journey is both beautiful and humbling.

I work full time, but the roles that shape me most happen outside the office. Most of my time goes toward raising my family, staying involved in my children’s school community, and building meaningful connections with other moms. In addition, I love creating things and turning small moments into celebrations. From simple family dinners to everyday milestones, I believe life should be memorable!

Like many families, our life is full and sometimes wonderfully chaotic. We juggle work, school schedules, volunteering, church, and family time. Yet those busy days often become the memories we cherish most.

Miami: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Miami is not just where I live. It is part of who I am. I grew up in a Cuban family surrounded by strong traditions, big personalities, and incredible food. In our home, family always came first. I carried that spirit into my own family. One thing I love about Miami is how culture and community blend into daily life. Languages, traditions, and generations mix together here. As a result, the city feels vibrant and alive.

For example, a school event can turn into a community gathering. A family visit can become a celebration that lasts all day. Even a quick cafecito with friends often turns into a long and meaningful conversation. Because of that, ordinary moments often become lasting memories in Miami.

Mom, Ma, Mommy, Mom

I am a proud mom to my wonderful son and my beautiful stepdaughter. Having an adult child gives me a unique perspective on motherhood. I have watched a child grow into adulthood while also parenting a younger child, and it is not for the faint hearted! Our blended family has shaped my motherhood journey in many ways. It has taught me patience, perspective, and the value of consistency. Children need (and deserve!) stability, love, and support across two homes, and ensuring they feel secure and loved has always been at the heart of everything I do as a parent. Of course, co-parenting and blended family dynamics come with their own challenges, but they also bring opportunities for growth, understanding, and grace.

My husband and I work intentionally to build a home centered on faith, family, and strong values. Our church plays an important role in that foundation and continues to strengthen our family. Meanwhile, we also encourage creativity in our home. We coordinate Halloween costumes, plan fun activities, and celebrate milestones. Above all, we love finding new ways to make memories together.

Community has always mattered to me. I stay involved through our church and through my work at our children’s school as PTO president. Because of these experiences, I truly believe motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

One of the most powerful parts of motherhood is how women support each other. We share advice, encouragement, laughter, and honesty. Sometimes we simply remind each other that we are doing better than we think.

That is what excites me most about joining Miami Mom Collective! I look forward to sharing stories about blended families, co-parenting, faith, school involvement, creativity, and everyday mom life in Miami. Most of all, I look forward to connecting with other women who are walking their own unique paths through motherhood here in Miami.
