Conditions Addressed by PrTMS

In addition to addressing and improving common issues like brain fog, lack of focus, and memory loss (hello, perimenopause!), PrTMS is a valid treatment option for anxiety, depression, OCD, and substance abuse disorder. PrTMS also provides data-driven therapy to address and support patients experiencing a wide range of neurological challenges, including autism, ADHD, ADD, TBI, PTSD, learning disorders, Parkinson’s, stroke, dementia, migraines, and other brain traumas. In fact, Dr. Kevin Murphy, who created PrTMS, uses it to treat U.S. military veterans at Walter Reed Hospital, as it is considered one of the best treatments for PTSD.

PrTMS & Autism

Dr. Murphy and the team at his Miami-based practice, Ultimate Brain Health, are incredibly proud of the support they provide to their patients on the autism spectrum. PrTMS can be successfully used in children as young as 3 years of age to support occupational, speech, and language therapy by making them more effective. According to their website, PrTMS has helped patients with autism by reducing meltdowns and destructive behavior, promoting eye contact and social interactions, and fostering adaptability. You can learn more about PrTMS and autism care here.

What exactly is PrTMS?

Dr. Kevin Murphy, medical director of Ultimate Brain Health and a former pediatric radiation oncologist, created and successfully used PrTMS to minimize post-cancer treatment deficits in his pediatric patients. He later developed a unique protocol for autism after using it as a therapy for his own autistic son, who was nonverbal with little eye contact, biting, and experienced frequent meltdowns. Amazingly, his son is now enjoying college, verbal mainstream!

PrTMS, or personalized repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, has been described as “…a groundbreaking treatment that has changed psychiatry, neurology, and brain health in a way nothing else has.” Unlike traditional TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), which is a more generalized approach, regardless of the severity of a patient’s condition, PrTMS provides highly personalized treatment delivery tailored to the specific needs of each patient. Additionally, PrTMS is non-invasive and medication-free, and improves overall brain function by increasing blood flow and energy use in key regions of the brain. Treatments are administered using MRI technology to send targeted magnetic pulses to the areas of the brain that may be overfiring or underfiring, depending on the conditions being addressed.

Testimonials

Here is what a couple of patients from Miami had to say about how PrTSM helped them:

This treatment changed my life. I couldn’t take medication due to the side effects. I was really struggling with depression. Well beyond just being sad. Now I’m able to enjoy things again and feel so much lighter! -S.D. in Miami, FL

We went in feeling pretty sceptical, because on this journey of autism, our lives are full of hopes and disappointments. However, when Doctor Murphy showed us the results of his son, it was absolutely undeniable. We had to take this chance, and it was the best thing we ever did for our children. It has been truly life-changing, not just for them, but for us. There’s so much noise out there and so many opinions, but I saw my son, who was completely non-verbal, become verbal on day five of treatment. No outside opinion matters when you’ve witnessed miracles with your own eyes. -F.A. in Miami, FL
