Miami
Hi! My name is Jossylyn, but quite literally everyone calls me Jossy! I’m a Miami mom to two beautiful bambinos, Presley and Milo, and wife to my husband Luis, my partner in life for nearly two decades now. I have a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and a bachelor’s in psychology. I previously specialized in medical speech language pathology in a hospital setting before stepping back to focus entirely on motherhood and I am forever grateful. In this new season, I am slowly reconnecting with my professional passions while raising my boys. Back in 2020 during the pandemic, I discovered the feeling of ultimate joy giving back and serving our community. I am a huge advocate for helping those less fortunate. You will find me supporting local charities and/or hosting a charity drive of my own several times a year.
I am Cuban-American, born and raised in Miami. I am also proud to be a first generation American in my family to graduate from college. For our family, Miami means sun kissed skin almost year-round, beach, cafecito & croqueta stops, and the kind of friendships that quickly turn into extended family. Around here, there’s even a name for it — “Cuban cousins”. They’re not technically related to you, but they’re at every birthday, every holiday, every big gathering. IYKYK. There’s something really special about raising children in a city that feels vibrant, diverse, and deeply rooted all at the same time. Miami has always been home, and I’m excited to share a little glimpse of our life here with this community.

Mom
Motherhood has been the most humbling, hilarious, exhausting, and rewarding role of my life. The magic of childhood has taught me how to meet my children where they are at. I have leaned into the understanding that my role as a mother is not to extinguish their fire, but more to teach them how to harness it. Our boys keep us busy in the best way. Watching them grow has taught me more about patience, gratitude, and perspective than anything else ever could.
Motherhood has also shifted how I see myself in this season of life. I’ve been learning to slow down, spend more time outdoors, honor the ability to move my body, and make space for reflection. My very first tattoo (at the start of my motherhood journey) represents that— a blooming flower emerging from a woman’s head, paired with the reminder: give yourself grace. It’s something I’m still learning to practice every day, especially when it often feels easier to extend that grace to others than to ourselves. And through it all, I’ve learned to look for the “glimmers” — those small moments of joy and meaning hidden within the everyday rhythms of motherhood. It can be hard to find them in the mundane of the day to day. But trust me, they’re there!

Collective
Community means everything to me. I think it can be challenging to find “your people” especially in a city like Miami, where it’s a melting pot of different cultures and has a super sonic speed pace of living! Is it cafecito time again? haha. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when moms show up for each other. Some of the most meaningful things I’ve been part of have come from moms simply deciding to do something good together. That’s what excites me most about being part of Miami Mom Collective. It’s a space where stories are shared, experiences are validated, and moms are reminded that they’re not doing this alone. Everyone belongs here! If I can contribute even a small piece to that sense of connection, encouragement, and community, then I’m grateful to be here.

So happy you’re a part of the team, Jossy! Welcome to the fam!
“Some of the most meaningful things I’ve been part of have come from moms simply deciding to do something good together.” Put this on a shirt, mama! YES!
Hi Krystal! Thank you for your kinds worlds and support. Excited to be here!
